Monday Contest: Classics for your collection

Look at how gorgeous these paperbacks are from Sterling’s Classic Lines series. They’re designed by Sara Singh, a fashion illustrator whose art has appeared in Vogue and The New York Times.

In an interview with the New York Times, Singh explained her assignment.  “My challenge was to make something that’s classic look appealing to tweens,” she said. “We wanted to make them fashionable and beautiful, with bright colors and handwritten text.”

It’s been a while since I was a tween, but I’d still like to have these works of art (not to mention fabulous works of literature!) on my shelf. Seriously—if you haven’t read Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights or Sense and Sensibility, it’s high time you experienced the passion, humor and unforgettable heroines of 19th-century literature.

Here’s how you can win the books:

TO ENTER: In the comments, tell us the name of your favorite classic OR the name of the classic you’d most like to read.

CONTEST DETAILS: One winner will be chosen by random.org from among entries received by 5 pm CST on Friday, December 28. One winner will receive copies of the two books pictured in this post. Prize must be shipped to a North American address, and Rhode Island residents are not eligible. (Full contest rules here.) Good luck!

ETA: Congratulations to our winner, Sasha! Her favorite classic is Anna Karenina.

Thanks to all who entered! Contest is now closed.
