The Dante Club by Matthew Pearl, The Beautiful Mystery by Louise Penny and The Art Forger by B.A. Shapiro. Okay, I’m cheating but I did leave several others off the list.
Unequivocally, “Syndrome E” by Franck Thilliez. An exhilarating mix of murder, treachery, off-beat romance, lost books, and the occasional ‘exotic’ locales (including Lille and Montreal).
So I read Gone Girl and loved it like everyone else, however I have to say Gillian Flynn’s Sharp Objects is even that much better. It’s dark, disturbing, and amazingly written.
