Monday contest: Louise Erdrich’s ‘The Round House’

Our October cover story is The Round House, Louise Erdrich’s 14th novel and the story of 13-year-old Joe Coutts coming of age on a North Dakota reservation in 1988.

This week, FOUR BookPage readers will receive a copy of this riveting, heartbreaking and even—at times—funny book.

Check out our interview with Erdrich, where she talks about writing through breast cancer (“I just never thought anything like this would happen to me.”) and the injustices she sought to capture in her new book (“I’ve known about this for a long time but it’s an injustice I never knew how to write about.”).

The October issue is packed with excellent books, so be sure to check those out, too! (Also in BookPage, read a review of Erdrich’s new children’s book, Chickadee!)

TO ENTER: Leave a comment with the title of the book you’re most excited to read in October.

CONTEST DETAILS: Four winners will be chosen by random.org from among entries received by 5 pm CST on Friday, October 5. Each winner will receive a copy of The Round House by Louise Erdrich. Prizes must be shipped to a North American address, and Rhode Island residents are not eligible. (Full contest rules here.) Good luck!

ETA: Congrats to our winners, Elizabeth, Krys, Deborah and Allen!

Thanks to all who entered. Contest is now closed.
