We’re spoiled for choice with author visits in Nashville these days. Today, we had lunch with the fabulous Deborah Harkness, chatting about ebooks, sherry, casting for the film version of A Discovery of Witches and more over s’mores at Tavern. (Watch for the video interview tomorrow!) Deborah is reading at Parnassus Books tonight at 6:30 pm; if you’re in town, you shouldn’t miss it.
Tomorrow night, British novelist Chris Cleave will be visiting the Salon@615 at the Nashville Public Library to talk about his new book Gold, which, you might recall, was featured on our July cover. Cleave is totally charming, smart and entertaining—be at the library early if you want a seat.
And Wednesday, we’re having another author guest at the BookPage office—local author Jennie Fields, whose upcoming novel, The Age of Desire, unlaces Edwardian author Edith Wharton.
Which of these authors would you clear your calendar to see? Have you seen an author you loved in person? Tell us about it!
