Monday contest: Paperbacks for your beach bag

Another Monday, another chance to win free books from BookPage. This week, we’ve selected four BP-approved summer reads that won’t weigh down your beach bag or suitcase. From gritty suspense, to literary fiction, to an inspirational story of life after death, these four books are surefire winners.     I’ve read some at the Beaches in NC,listening to the ocean and plan to read some by the running creek behind a cabin in the Blue Ridge Mts(if I don’t fall asleep again)great summer reading to all.

    Most of the time, I’ll be reading in the car. With the carpool for the kids in camp and our long drive to deliver our oldest to college, I’m pretty sure that’s where I’ll be spending most of my time….sigh….

    I try to squeeze in an hour of reading a day while riding on my recumbent stationary bike or listening to an audiobook while walking on the treadmill . I don’t know that I’d be able to convince myself to exercise if I couldn’t read while doing it.

    I will be reading all over this summer! I am a teacher, so I have the ability to travel during the summer months. I will be taking “old school” books and my Nook throughout New York State. I will also be reading on my couch, on my bed, outside relaxing on my newly built porch, and quite frequently, I find myself while on the treadmill or riding a stationary bike. I need to distract myself somehow!

    As a high school English teacher, I get to spend a great amount of my summer reading. So far, I’ve been reading in my backyard, but in a couple of weeks, I’ll be reading in Seattle when I attend training for the Educurious program. I need some books to take on the plane :)

    I have the best spot ever to read. I have a nice swing on the patio, the greatest. I spend many an hour reading out there. I read in the early morning atb first light and I read into the evenings until dusk. I love my patio. With a fountain to make it more relaxing and with a nice midwestern breeze to keep things cool. I am always up to reading a good book.

    Also, I expect to read in abundance on the deck of a cruise ship sailing to Alaska. Pray for calm seas. :)

    In the summer I read everywhere. During vacation at Long Beach Island NJ (seems other Book Page fans will be doing the same). I read at the lake, in the yard in a hammock, in bed after sleeping in, in the car waiting for my daughter’s activities to be over. I have my summer’s “off” so I’ll be reading books for work (school) and lots of books for ME. I just finished The Chaperone and loved it, and am now reading the House of Sand and Fog and would love to win some more!

    Even though my Transformer Prime tablet with all my books was stolen in Barcelona, I was able to read on a Mediterranean Cruise on the Celebrity Solstice due to the wonderful library on the ship.

    Plan to finish Dance with Dragons this summer on a beach in Michigan and Florida and my own back yard.

    Because the temperatures stay so hot here in Oklahoma during the summer, I love to grab a cold class of ice tea and a book then head to my favorite easy chair in the afternoon. What a wonderful way to cool off and reward myself for working hard in the mornings.

    I try to spend as much time as possible outside … generally with a book in hand. I move around the house avoiding the sun: front porch to covered patio to hammock to screened porch. As long as I have a book in hand, I’m happy.

    already started. Just returned from Las Vegas, and next for a few days in Bilooxi, then to Foxwoods in Connecticut, and finish up with a southern Carribean cruise. All of these call for paperbacks while in the air, on board ship, or lounging around the pool. In my recliner when home I will be doing the hard backs. Great to be retired and reading!!!

    I read wherever and whenever time allows me. On the weekends, I start my day on my front porch reading, then at the end of the day curl up on the couch to read before calling it a day. During the week, I read to and from work as I take the bus, so I have ample time to read, but still curl up on the couch at the end of the day.
