Monday contest: Four much-anticipated books

Have you been keeping up with our 30 most anticipated books of 2012? If so, you know that March, April and May pack some big book releases: 17 of our 30 most anticipated books!

We’re giving away four picks from the list of exciting books coming out March through May:

The New Republic by Lionel Shriver
According to Shriver, this novel deals with terrorism “on a peninsula in Portugal which doesn’t exist.”

Farther Away: Essays by Jonathan Franzen
A collection of Franzen’s essays and speeches over the past five years.

In One Person by John Irving

    Franzen’s essays – absolutely. Further Away was reviewed in the San Francisco Chronicle this week, without enthusiasm. I’ve learned that there are critics and there are fans, and I fall into the latter.

    I have just recently started reading memoirs and believe that I would enjoy Alison Bechdel’s _Are You My Mother?_ I am even MORE looking forward to Anna Quindlen’s new book _Lots of Candles, Plenty of Cake_ since I have been reading her novels for years and miss reading her essays at the back of the _Newsweek_.

Shriver’s “We Need to Talk About Kevin” was an emotionally draining experience and yet unforgettable and fascinating. I’ve read and enjoyed “Freedom” by Jonathan Franzen. Anything by John Irving is a joy to read.
