It’s that time of year again—we’re launching the 2012 BookPage Reader Survey!
We want to know all about your reading preferences, hobbies and habits so we can make BookPage better for you. Best of all, if you answer the survey, you’ll be entered to win some fantastic prizes:
• One Grand Prize Winner will receive a Nook Color with a preloaded one-year subscription to BookPage and FREE BOOKS* FOR A YEAR!
• One Second Prize Winner will receive a Nook Color with a preloaded one-year subscription to BookPage.
• Ten Runner-Up Winners will receive a $20 Books-A-Million gift card.
I just took the survey myself, and it took me less than two minutes (plus it was kinda fun to evaluate my reading habits). We’d be thrilled if you took the survey now. Good luck!
*BookPage editors will be picking out the books to specifically fit your reading taste, so you know they’ll be good reads.

Good survey, EXCEPT you goofed on the e-reader questions. I have a Kindle and I populated that answer in the survey. A couple of questions down is the question “If you don’t have an e-reader, do you plan to purchase one?”. If you are going to require an answer to this question, one of the choices should be “I already own an e-reader”.
Very good catch! We have edited that question to include “I already own an eReader” as an option. Thank you for taking our survey and for visiting BookPage.com.
Can you enter more than once?!?
No, I’m sorry — only one entry allowed per person.
One question that should have been asked about subscribing to BookPage on an eReader should have been: “Are you willing to pay for a subscription for your eReader?” I would love to have a subscription for my iPad, but I am not willing to pay for it when I can get the paper version for free at my library. I tried the iPhone app on my iPad, but it was impossible to read because it was only clear at phone screen size. You should really consider a free iPad specific app. Seems to me it would save on printing costs.
Thank you for your feedback!
Re: Survey. You asked what my favorite column was. Since “Interviews” wasn’t an option I was forced to say “none of the above” as if I don’t enjoy any of the suggested choices. I certainly do enjoy them. A more appropriate option would be “other”.
Thank you for taking the survey and for your feedback. The reason “interviews” wasn’t included as an option for that question is that author interviews are considered features, not columns. However, I can see how that would be a confusing distinction, since interviews come right after columns in the print edition! It’s helpful for us to know that you enjoy interviews. Have you seen our new eBook, BookPage: The Interviews, Volume 1? It’s a compilation of 10 of our favorite interviews in BookPage history, with all-new introductions.
I just took the survey. There were a couple problems. One. I was asked how I obtained my books and there was no choice for checking them out at the library. Also. I checked out my Kindle from the library and there was no choice for that possibilty. And of course, then I checked out my e-books from the library and there was no choice for that. I live on a very limited budget and NEVER buy books…I only get them from the library and I don’t envision being able to ever purchase an e-reader. My point is that I hope more Kindles and Nooks will be available for check out at libraries and consequently MANY more e-books as well…there are very few to choose from right now and they are usually checked out….Thanks for this chance to share my views…:)
Please excuse my typo in my comment…I really am an educated, intelligent person
