The December Book Clubs column features the new paperback edition of Rebecca Rasmussen’s debut The Bird Sisters, a “poignant and powerful” novel that unfolds the story of two sisters with a tragic, eccentric childhood.

What is your book club reading?

oh, i heard about this book before! Rasmussen is a very talented writer. I think i’ll buy this book, it looks like one of the books which you are supposed to keep on your shelf – not computer. I like it that the plot is about sisters – there is nothing more important than the bond of family.
