    The Art of Fielding.

Agree: The Art of Fielding was phenomenal (though some friends tell me they read the first 50 pages and just could not keep going). Also props to ‘The Night Circus’ by Erin Morgenstern – great fantasy. Mystery-wise, I’m going with ‘Before I Go to Sleep’ by S.J. Watson. All of these, in my opinion, are among the best novels of 2011. Hard to limit any list to just 10 or so…same with the best non-fiction books of 2011 (I added Didion, and voted like a fiend for it)! Overall, I’d say we had a great 2011 for excellent, compelling reads in a variety of genres!
