Some major book-to-film projects have released trailers recently. First up: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer, which we posted about a year ago. This looks like a good one—it even tied the movie-tie-in book cover to the original. Its child star was a “Jeopardy!” champ, so maybe he can get across Oskar’s braininess. [More here.] The film will be in limited release on Christmas Day; a national release is scheduled for January 20.

The other trailer is for another January release that BookPage readers have been skeptical about: One for the Money, based on Janet Evanovich‘s first Stephanie Plum novel. Fans, what do you think of Katherine Heigl as Stephanie now?
And then there’s The Rum Diary trailer. Based on Hunter S. Thompson’s novel, this period piece, which stars Johnny Depp as a hard-drinking journalist, looks like fun. This one’ll be in theaters in November.
What book-to-film adaptations are you looking forward to?
