ETA: Congratulations to our winner, Kim! Her favorite romance novel is Almost Heaven by Judith McNaught, and she is supporting Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month on behalf of a close friend.
Thank you to all who entered! Contest is now closed.

After having watched my mother survive breast cancer almost 30 years ago, I really want to see all forms of cancer treatments researched as much as possible. The only way to do that is with money!
Such an important cause, thank you.
My baby sister died from cancer, a melanoma on her lung at the age of 36. Although that was 24 years ago, I still hurt and miss her. I willing support cancer charities, especially those that are aimed at research. As far as a favorite romance novel is concerned-I can’t pick a favorite-I like too many.
My best friend, exactly my age, and a doctor’s wife, died of ovarian cancer at the age of 44! It was shocking. Nothing much was known about ovarian cancer 35 years ago, except that it was a killer and usually not discovered early enough. Times have changed a little, but ovarian cancer is still a killer. Thus my support of this important charity.
My favorite romance book is always the one I am currently reading.
Raising money for medical research is always important and I think it is wonderful that Avon is raising money for such a good cause. There are lots of authors I like. Debbie Macomber, Susan Wiggins, Kristan Higgins, Kristin Hannah, Dorothea Benton Frank….I could go on but that is enough.
Thank you.
My best friend fought the after-effects of breast cancer for many years.
She got to watch her kids grow up before finally giving in.
Haven’t we all known someone who has died too young from breast cancer or ovarian cancer? It will be a wonderful day when these scourges are cured.
I don’t usually read romance novels but I would love to win a selection to try!
My favorite romance is Granny Dan by Danielle Steel. And this is an important cause that all women should support because you could be next and it needs to be eliminated so we aren’t next!
When you watch someone you know well or just know.it is so sad..I completely support any help that is there…for them…my Mom died of cancer,so it is sad to see anyone suffer like she did,we were thankful when she was at peace again.
When my friend had breast cancer, her husband had to be out of town working to pay bills ,I took her to every treatment, cooked and cleaned, and helped in anyway I could…when she lost her hair, she hated wigs,I said don’t wear, she got some caps and looked great in hats,a person said loud, who does she think she is,Britney Spears,if I hadn’t been in bathroom, and didn’t know until they left…I’d had said how unkind she was to her rude face…but so many kind strangers came up many times ,when we went out and gave her support, said they were survivors, and yes,her hair is so beautiful now…she is cancer free …
I am a 17-year breast cancer survivor and thank God for each new day! I was with my Mom all through her 12-year battle with cervical cancer which included many mutilating surgeries and awful treatments all to no avail. I watching my father-in-law die of lung cancer and my husband’s wonderful brother die from multiple myeloma. Right now, I am praying hard for my friend’s 7-year-old daughter as she fights leukemia. Ovarian cancer can be so sneeky with few definitive symptoms but I do pray that we may soon find a cure not only for ovarian cancer, but for all cancers. I will post this fund raiser on my Facebook page. My advice to everyone is to get your checkups and be aware of any changes in your body and contact your doctor right away if you do find something. The big thing is to be happy every day. Positive thinking and being “up” is another key to staying well.
Finding a favorite book is difficult. However, I must say that I loved Cathy Maxwell’s “Temptation of a Proper Governess.” Novels about governesses have always been a favorite of mine as they are usually about quiet yet strong women and I admire that. I don’t think I’ve ever met a book I didn’t like, unless of course, it was a *yuk* boring school textbook! Be happy, Friends. Be happy!

I am a 13 year breast cancer survivor. I’ve lost friends to ovarian cancer. I plan to support this cause by purchasing all 7 books if I don’t win them. I like all the authors. One of my very favs. is Caroline Linden. She inspired me to try to write screenplays.
My current fav romantic novels are any by Debbie Macomber or Linda Lael Miller. I have never read a bad one from either & recommend them to all my friends looking for good reads. Also, this ovarian cancer cause is very dear to me as a dear neighbor suffered and and has survived almost 20 years so research is still needed!
Ovarian cancer needs more awareness. While romance revolves around falling in love and bearing children, this cancer strikes women in the very place that produces their wonderful children. Let’s help beat this!
I lost a friend to ovarian cancer and my daughter (just 40) is a breast
cancer survivor. We need to keep fighting to eliminate all cancer.
My all time favorite romance author is Rosemary Rogers. I’ve read
all her books, but don’t know if she is still writing.
The Guiding Light series.
My favorite romance would probably be Agnes and The Hitman by Jennifer Crusie.
Cancer has impacted all of our lives in some form. Just over the past couple of years, two people I know have had the cancer scare involving cervical cancer. No matter the form of cancer, it’s something we all can agree needs to be eradicated.
I love the books by Hannah Howell, Eloisa James, Stephanie Laurens and so many more!
Cool contest. It is a good fit to pare up romance with breast cancer awarness.
My sister is a nine-year breast cancer survivor.
Stephanie Laurens “Bastian Club” series is my current favorite. The Lady Chosen is my favorite from the series.
Do the novels in Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series qualify as “romance”? They are my favorites!
Such a great cause! I’ve had both breast and uterine cancer, so know what it’s like for those who have been diagnosed.
As far as my favorite romance novel, each one I read!
This is a great cause. My sister-in-law’s mother is battling ovarian cancer right now. It is a cancer that you don’t hear much about and needs more attention. This is a fantastic way to bring awareness to this silent killer.
I love Lynsay Sands, but my reason for supporting Avon is because in 2006 my grandmother, who raised me from the time I was 2, died of ovarian cancer after 5yrs of fighting it. I hope one day that they fight a cure for this horrible disease!!!
This cause is dear to me for many reasons. First and for most my grandmother was stickened by this horrible disease that took her life to soon. There are so many things I miss about her. The way she lite up a room when she smiled, the way she gave to many and never asked anything in return, for being my inspiration to live life with love and compassion. All these thing made her special and when cancer took this away I made a choice to stand up and fight for this cause for others like her. For many years I worked for Walmart and was in charge of raising money and getting people to walk in the Atlanta Susan .G. Koman to make a difference. I will continue to spread the word and stand with all women so we can find a cure.
My reason for being here is it is a great cause. my maternal grandmother went undiagniosed and it ended up spreading throughout other organs.
Favorite book is hard to choose ultimate favorite would be Pride and Prejudice, newer favorite is Pleasure for Pleasure by Eloisa James, and Love According to Lilly by Julianne Maclean
I don’t have a favorite romance author, but I do have a favorite time to read romance books. They seem to go hand in hand with summer. i especially like historical romance. I’ll take suggestions from other readers.
I can only do little things right now to support any cancer funding. I know OPI sells nail polish that sends funding for ovarian cancer. I will be buying the polish. If Avon does the same sort of thing I will be supporting that also. Thank you.
my mom had breast cancer. Favorite romance still has to be
Pride and Prejudice.
I’m a RN and see cancer patients frequently. I pray for a cure, but in the meantime I”m impressed with the great strides in treatment that have been make.
My favorite romance novel is the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon!
A little romance after this weekend with Irene is in order !
My favorite romance is Lynn Kurland’s The More I see you. But I love Stephanie Laurens and Eloisa James’ books also!
I plan on supporting the K.I.S.S. program as, my Mother passed away from cancer of the Vulva. I myself have leukemia, so every penny raised towards cancer research is wonderful.
I love Stephanie Laurens Cynster novels, she’s an amazing Author.
Thank you for this opportunity.
What a wonderful selection of books to win. My favorite author is whoever I am reading and right now that is Lisa Kleypas and Jane Porter.
I love Katie MacAlister’s Noble Destiny. I read it over and over.
Rosemary Rogers-Sweet Savage Love. cervical cancer survivor.
Have had 6 vulva and endrometrical cancer operations and support this effort to educate and fund cancer research. My favorite author is whoever I am reading right now, My all time favorite is Kathleen Woodwiss
My favorite romance is Sweet Savage Love by Rosemary Rogers. I plan to support the Kiss program by telling all my friends to buy any of the above titles of books and to be sure to get their yearly check-ups!
It’s got to be A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Devereaux. Or Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I love the time travel aspect of both.
I love to read all romance novels and I love Nora Roberts. The romance novels give me a break from reality as reality is a pain filled life. I would love to read these.
My mother passed away from ovarian cancer at the age of 41. It is a cause near and dear to my heart. I applaud Avon Books for championing this important issue. I am happy to support it and blogged about it at http://tinamoss.blogspot.com/2011/08/when-writers-give-back-avon-books.html
I hope the posting and tweets bring more readers to the cause.
My grandmother died of breast cancer in her early fifties and my mother of colon cancer later in her life.
My mother loved to read and so do I. My favorite author is always to one I am reading at the moment.
My mom died from cervical cancer. I will support any cancer research. My favorite romance novel, I don’t have one, I love beach reads with happy endings. My all time favorite romance novel has to be the Twilight series. Never thought I would like vampires etc. My daughter bribed me to read it. Most intense love story I have ever read.
I like the arcane novels as romance stories. I will make a concerted effort to go out and purchase some Avon romances to help this great effort.
i love to read some romances but my sister in law reads more than i do so if i win i am going to give them to my sister in law for christmas as present from me.gene
Favorite romance novel: Julie Garwood’s The Secret.
Great cause and great selection – Thanks!
Judith McNaught is my favorite.
My sister died from liver cancer (she did not drink), she had been misdiagnosed and didn’t have a chance.
There are many authors I enjoy. The seven listed as the books being given away are just a few. Katharine Ashe, Eloisa James, Stephanie Laurens, Tessa Dare..the list goes on and on.
I donate to cancer organizations every year and always have. K.I.S.S. & Teal will be another one. WHY? Because cancer is one of the main killers in my family. Every form you can think of ( heart disease being the second killer). Right now I myself am fighting spinal cancer, ovarian and cervical. I’ve already had Uterine cancer and bladder cancer. I want others to survive even if for some reason I don’t. I want a cure!!
Former college roommate has ovarian cancer, stage 4. I will do anything I can to support her and this cause.
As for romance writers – way too many to name. Start with the oldies but goodies like Woodiwiss, move up through new ones like Sandra Hill, Gena Showalter, Susan Grant, add in a smidgen of Katie MacAllister and Nora Roberts and you’ve got the tip of the iceberg.
I have to sy that i do not have a fav romance novel. There are a lot that i love and reread.
My aunt has thia specific type of cancer. I have helped her and others by donating my time at the local hospital’s cancer treatment center. I keep them company while they go through their treatment.
Thank you for the contest
My favorite romance novel is Almost Heaven by Judith McNaught.
I’m supporting Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month because someone very close to me suffered from it. It’s nice that Avon Books is spreading the word.
I had my own brush with ovarian cancer and I think it’s great that Harlequin has chosen to support a women’s cause just as deadly as breast cancer.
Thank you Avon books for donating to such a worthy cause!
I will support. A former coworkers wife was diagnosed and beat OC.
Great to see awareness raised on such an insidious cancer. I was so happy to see this campaign and the commitment of Avon to promote it.
I have many favorite romance books, to pick one is almost impossible. Julia Quinn’s The Viscount Who Loved Me comes to mind.
