I listened to The Lovely Bones while running on the treadmill or outside. It was great!
The two collections I’d be most interested in:
Laugh-out-loud Listening
Transporting Fiction
What lovely audiobook choices. I would enjoy Transporting fiction and Thrilling Mysteries. An audiobook which I listened to in the car and thought was compelling was Hitch 22.
Last audiobook I listened to while driving in my car was “Are you there vodka? It’s me, Chelsea” that I borrowed from my local library. And I would love to win the “Laugh-out-loud listening” collection.
Thanks
I listened to The Grapes Of Wrath; a wonderful recording. I listen whenever I am in my car, often looking for reasons to drive!
I would be most interested in Thrilling Mysteries and Transporting Fiction. Thanks!
Last audiobook I loved was The Help, which I listened to driving to work. Both Thrilling Mysteries and Transporting Fiction would make my long daily commute fly.
The last audiobook that I really enjoyed was The Kite Runner which I listened to in my car on the way to and from classes for graduate school. I’ve listened to others since then, but that one got its hooks into me and won’t let go. I’d love to win either thrilling mysteries or transporting fiction. Thanks so much!
I am listening to the audio book Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon – I should finish up The Fiery Cross today and start on a Breath of Snow and Ashes. No way you could read or listen to all of this series without loving it. Also loved Philippa Gregory’s the Constant Princess which I listened to with my husband in the car on a recent trip. I’d love any of the collections – order of preference Thilling Mysteries, Transporting Fiction, Laugh-Out-Loud Listening, and Compelling Nonfiction.
I check out my audio books from my local Library.
Although I have listened to them before, I just recently enjoyed the Hatchet books by Gary Paulsen read by Peter Coyote. A great story helps to make the miles pass more quickly.
The two collections I would enjoy the most are the “Thrilling Mysteries” and the “Laugh-Out Loud Listening” audio books.
The last audiobook I completed in my transport to and from work was The Boneman’s Daughter. The voices used for by the characters were haunting. Listening to accents used in audiobooks heightens the enjoyment for me. Something I never get when reading. If I could win a series I would like the Transport Fiction series.
I loved listening to The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly w my son during his school commute. So did he. We called it the Awesome. “Ready to start the Awesome?” “Yes!” I would love the Thrilling Mysteries collection.
I just finished listening to Down to the Wire by David Rosenfelt while finishing my grandson’s quilt, sitting on the patio in sunny southern Calif. Three of my favorite things all at the same time. What could be sweeter.
Thrilling Mysteries would be my pick since this is my favorite genre. And all of the titles are on my TBR list.
I have a short commute so do not listen to audio books a whole lot. But two I loved were Blessed are the Cheesemakers and Under the Tuscan Sun. Both were “playaways” I checked out from the public library.
If I were to be lucky enough to win this contest I would choose “Transporting Fiction” and my second choice would be “Laugh out Loud Listening”.
Last audiobook I listened to (in my car) was Nightmare at 20,000 Feet by Richard Matheson. I’d love to win the Transporting Fiction and the Thrilling Mysteries please!
The last audiobook I listened to was “The Girl Who Played With Fire”. My husband and I were doing a friend a favor by driving from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan across Minnesota and delivering a puppy to a new owner in Bismarck, ND. The flat lands of ND were perfect for listening to this awesome book.
My choices would be “Transporting Fiction” and “Thrilling Mysteries”.
Thank you.
New Yorkby Edward Rutherfurd 30 discs. It is such a wonderful historical novel. Listening in my car.
I would love Transporting Fiction.
Thanks.
I am new to audiobooks. The last book I listened to while walking my one hour tour and in the car was THE HELP. My choicde would be Laugh Out Loud Listening.
I’ve never listened to an audio book! But, I’d like to try.
The two collections I’d be most interested in:
Laugh-out-loud Listening
Transporting Fiction
I last listened to Mockingjay, in the car, then in my sewing room.
would love the Transporting Fiction collection! thanks!
Right now I’m listening to “The Ten Year Nap” by Meg Wolitzer on an audiobook, but my most recent favorite was “Bossypants” by Tina Fey.
I really want that Transporting Fiction boxset. I love audiobooks!
I just finished Sag Harbor by Colson Whitehead. Wonderful writing, excellent reader. I listen to two audiobooks at one time. One in my car and one at home while I’m cooking, cleaning etc.
Transporting fiction
Laugh -out- loud listening
I loved, loved, loved The Help audiobook. It was so amazing to hear the different women’s voices tell this fantastic story. The best book and best audiobook I’ve read/heard in a long time. I would like the Thrilling Mysteries collection.
The last FICTION audiobook I loved was Cutting For Stone, by A. Verghese, and the last NON-FICTION one was Atlantic by S. Winchester. I listened to them at home, while doing house chores and painting – I am an artist, painting exclusively on rocks.
I would love to receive the Thrilling Mysteries Collection.
Thanks BookPage, you are the best!
Emma @ Words And Peace
I like listening to audiobooks while I’m busy cooking or doing other things. Two that I’ve really enjoyed lately is “The Tale of Halcyon Crane” by Wendy Webb and “Wishful Drinking” by Carrie Fisher.
I’d like to win any of the collections, but my top choices would be Thrilling Mysteries and Compelling Non-Fiction.
The last audiobook that I listened to and loved (while commuting to and from work) was undoubtedly “SAVING CEECEE HONEYCUTT” by Beth Hoffman. I even went out and bought the trade paperback and sharing it with coworkers!
The collections I would be interested in are the Thrilling Mysteries or Transporting Fiction.
Thanks!
Listened to The Neighbor, by Lisa Gardner, as my first audiobook in years, over a long drive to visit a friend. I found it compelling and the miles passed quickly….
Okay, I’m going to be honest here. I have no idea at all what the last audiobook that I listened to was. I was taking care of my first grandchild and I was in another world, a world of concern, worry, exhilaration, exhaustion, and totally and irrevocably in love. A few more grandchildren later, and you get the picture.
My favorite collections are the Laugh-Out-Loud group and the Transporting Fiction.
Thanks, BookPages
The last audiobook I listened to and loved was the Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. I downloaded a free version from our public library to my mp3 player. I listened to it while driving to-from work.
I would love to receive the laugh-out-loud listening and transporting fiction collections.
Thank you.
I loved listening to The Help while driving in my car. I’m originally from the South, and I loved hearing the language and accents. It put me right back in time to another location, and it had a marvelous story.
The King’s Mistress by Emma Campion in the car. I love listening to audio books in the car.
I would love to win either the Thrilling Mysteries or Transporting Fiction collection. Thanks for the chance!
I listened to Joshilyn Jackson’s “The Girl Who Stopped Swimming” a few weeks ago and loved it (in part) because it was read by the author, who was also an actress in her day. Jackson has that Southern voice that brings the charm straight out of Victoriana. I’d say she struggled with the men’s voices a little, but her women (and children) were pitch-perfect.
Transporting Fiction and Laugh-out-loud Listening for me.
Oh, and I listened to it in the car on the way to visit some friends two states away from where I am living now. Moved recently.
I am a recent convert to audiobooks! I never dreamed that they could be so good. I recently finished listening to Matterhorn by Karl Malentes. It will be a long time before I get some of this story out of my head! What a great book, made even better by the talented reader Bronson Pinchot.
I would be thrilled to win either the Mysterys or the Transporting Fiction
I have not read any audiobooks yet but my mother who was suffering from macular degeneration listened to them all the time. It was hard keeping her supplied. Our dog sat by her side and listened intently–it’s a shame there were no books on dog training!
Forgot to include my selections: Mysteries and Fiction
I recently listened to Commencement by Courtney Sullivan. Great characters you become involved with from the very beginning of their days at Smith.
The last book I listened to was “Room” by Emma Donoghue. I listened mainly during my commute to work, but it was so good, there were times I continuted listening evenings at home doing dishes, laundry, etc. Its an incredibly well written and performed novel.
Of the nice selection of collections you are offering, I would be most interested in: Laugh-out-loud Listening and Transporting Fiction.
Thanks!
I love audiobooks! I mostly listen to them in the car and in the kitchen while I am doing laundry or cooking. I just finished up a very enjoyable “The Paris Wife” but my favorite listen recently was “The Help”. I would love to win Laugh-out-loud Listening or Transporting Fiction.
I love audiobooks, and my most recent favorite was Free Food for Millionaires. I listen in my car. If I won, I’d love Transporting Fiction and Thrilling Mysteries.

The last book I listened to was Full Dark, No Stars by Stephen King. I love his books. I usually listen to books when I travel, especially when going to visit the grandkids. I’d love Thrilling Mysteries. Second choice would be Laugh-out-loud Laughing.

I always listen to audio books when driving long distances. Many years ago when my daughter was young we drove from Boston to Chicago. On the drive we listened to EB White read “Charlotte’s Web” Still one of my favorite audio books ever, even as an adult.
I would enjoy Transporting fiction
Thanks
My favorite audiobooks are Sue Grafton’s mysteries. They are great stories to listen to during my (not too long) drive to work. In general I prefer to listen to mysteries, I guess their voices are better than the one in my head!!! That, or I can’t sneak ahead in the book and find out who dun it……
If I were to win I’d be most interested in laugh out loud listening and
(of course!) thrilling mysteries.
I’m currently listening to Agatha Christie’s biography, Duchess of Death, by Richard Hack while I cook, bake, or clean up in the kitchen. I listen to audiobooks constantly while doing all household chores, driving, and even while doing jig saw puzzles. One of my favorite books on CD is The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, and I’ve listened to it more than once. I’d be interested in Thrilling Mysteries and Transporting Fiction.

Blood, Buter & Bones by Gabrielle Hamilton kept me entertained while traveling to my Father’s chemo therapy treatments. I’d be interested in Laugh Out Loud Listening or Thrilling Mysteries collection.
Tabloid City by Pete Hamill which we listened to enroute to NYC from MI
The last audio book I listened to was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to refresh my memory for the final movie this summer. I would like the Laugh Out Loud Listening and Thrilling Mysteries sets.
I could not survive without audiobooks. I my communute to work is between 1-2 hours each way. Audiobooks can trasport me out of traffic and around the globe. Sometimes it is even hard to get out of the car if the book is in a good spot, which normally, after sitting in traffic, batteling Michigan’s weather extremes one cannot wait to get out. Anyways, the last one I listened to was Left Neglected, which was good. However, the one I listened to before that was Shangai Girls by Lisa See, which I adored. There is nothing better than an audiobook, that can transport you to another place and time. And I had perfect timing as Dreams of Joy was just released…which I cannot wait to read or listen to! I am really torn between the laugh out loud collection, because we all need a good laugh and I have only listened to one of the books….or the transporting collection as I am a traveler, with zero cash to travel….so audiobooks are my only escape!
I listen to audio books on my commute to and from work, and any other time I’m in the car. I just listened to, for the 2nd or 3rd time, Shanghai Girls by Lisa See, and look forward to her new novel Dreams of Joy. A good reader really makes the story come alive.
Forgot to include the collections hoped for, in order of preference,

I must confess that I have listened to children’s audio tapes. The last one I listened to was “Carrie Woodlawn” in my friend’s car to entertain her girls. I have borrowed tapes from our library several times to keep my grandson entertained on longer drives. Each time, I enjoyed the story and music too and liked seeing how much the children enjoyed the stories too and were great passengers.
Now many of my friends use audio tapes on long trips and I think they would be good for me too on the 3 hour trips to my daughter’s.
I think I would enjoy the traveling fiction package but it would be fun to listen to Tina Fey’s book too.
Laura Beyer
I have never listened to an audio book, but now would be the perfect time to start!
I’d be interested in Laugh Out Loud Listening and Thrilling Mysteries.
Thanks!
Alexander McCall Smith’s first contribution to his Isobel Dalhousie series, “The SundayPhilosophy Club.” I listened to it while recuperating from a very strange accident–I had had a very vivid dream involving bombs and missles and at the climax, as a bomb was about to hit me, I woke up in extreme pain, my head bleeding, having just bashed my face into a metal portable heater. Two broken bones, 22 stitches and an additional surgery later, I listened to Davina Porter create McCall’s Edinburgh as I whiled away the hours on my living room couch as the pain came and went. I was transported to a completely different world and it was what I needed. That’s also why the Transporting Fiction collection appeals to me, as does the laugh out loud funny!
I loved listening to Michael Caine’s autobiography that he read aloud. When riding in the car I prefer funny stories so my first choice would be Laugh-Out-Loud Listening. I prefer reading fiction so my second choice would be Transporting Fiction.
Laugh out loud listening and thrilling mysteries
I haven’t gotten into audio books. Now that I’ve retired from several organizations and it is summer time (I can sit outside and read to my heart’s content) I would like to try audio books. thanks.

This wasn’t the last audio book I listened but the most memorable. It was Pat Conroy’s Prince of Tides. Richard Thompson read the book. Pat Conroy is a fantastic and interesting author but Richard Thompson really made it come alive. I knew he was a good actor but had no idea what he could bring to an audio book. I listened to audio books all day long when I worked for the United States Postal Service. I sat on a stool in an aisle casing mail for a living. It was quite boring some times. Listening to all those books on tape made my job and life bareable. I’d like to win Thrilling Mysteries & Transporting Fiction. Thank you.

I just finished Augusten Burrough’s Running with Scissors, and loved it! Touching and funny and well-read all at once. My favorite audio listen, though, was The Swan Thieves — the voices were spot-on, and the whole thing well-produced (not to mention it’s a wonderful book, too).
I listen to all of my audiobooks in the car, as I have a two-hour commute to/from work each day.
I loved “Dog On It” by Spencer Quinn. I was on a road trip.

I have never listened to an audiobook, but maybe it’s time I started. Mysteries would be my favorite category, followed by fiction. Thanks so much for having this contest!
Even though my commute is 5 mins one way, I manage to listen to many audiobooks in the car, and they are the best way to make dishwashing and housework bearable. thanks!
I couldn’t resist the audio version of Adam Mansbach’s GO THE F**K TO SLEEP (Akashic Books), read by Samuel L. Jackson — Jackson’s voice is resonant and soothing, yet gritty and exasperated, perfect for the story of a frustrated parent trying to get that kid to sleep!
I would love the mystery collection and the fiction collection.
Thanks for the opportunity!
I tend to listen to audiobooks in the car. When the power goes out, I pop a disc into my portable CD player and escape. Lately I have started to listen to old-time radio shows, such as The Shadow, Sherlock Holmes, and other in the mystery and suspense genres.
I would love the mystery and fiction collections.

The two collections I believe I would enjoy the most are the mystery and humor – my sister is visually impaired and I know she would love these while she is recovering from surgery.
