The Carolyn Parkhurst Collection

We were already fans of Carolyn Parkhurst at BookPage—we interviewed her about her 2003 debut, The Dogs of Babel, and The Nobodies Album is one of our book club picks for June.

Now, she’s just got us cracking up. You have to watch Parkhurst’s video promo for the paperback release of The Nobodies Album. In it, the author debuts the “Carolyn Parkhurst Collection.” (Personal favorite line? “It’s kind of like my entire literary oeuvre, in charm form.”)

In the video, Parkhurst presents various ridiculous items featuring quotes about herself and her books—like this one:

You can read the review where Parkhurst got that quote here. Can someone please tell me where to buy that pillow?

By the way, The Nobodies Album comes out in paperback on June 14. Have you already read it? Will you pick it up after watching the funny video?

I have long waited for one of my reviews to be excerpted in throw pillow form… Now I find myself wondering whether I should bother to continue writing reviews since what could top this, really? Best to go out on top, right? ;)

That said, I oved the promo for The Nobodies Album! It makes me love Carolyn Parkhurst all the more!

AMAZING. I laughed out loud and forwarded the video to several of my book-loving friends (including the one who loaned me The Dogs of Babel. I got my own copy immediately after my first read, because it’s a keeper!).
