‘We Need to Talk About Kevin’ premieres at Cannes

The film version of Lionel Shriver’s We Need to Talk About Kevin is making waves at the Cannes Film Festival, drawing raves for director Lynne Ramsay and stars Tilda Swinton and Ezra Miller (son of Workman’s Bob Miller).

Three clips are available from the movie. All have an eerie tone that is absolutely true to the novel and are making me even more eager for its release (currently not scheduled in the US, but likely to be this fall). My two favorites are below (warning: second one contains a minor spoiler). What do you think?

I didn’t check out the second video because of the spoiler thing. I’ve read some of this book but not all. It certainly looks intense.

  2. Bonnie Gluhanich says:

I hope you’re right and this will be shown in the U.S. soon. This was an amazing book and with Tilda Swinton starring I know it’ll be a great movie.

  3. Bob Miller says:

Ezra is my son but my name is Bob Miller and while I’ve been working at Workman for a year, I’m certainly not its founder (that would be Peter Workman, who started Workman forty years ago).
