‘Thirteen Reasons Why’ will be a film

Gomez

Last week details of a new book-to-film project emerged:  Jay Asher’s Thirteen Reasons Why, a debut that is a “powerful look at a teen in torment.” Selena Gomez—aka Mrs. Beiber—will star as Hannah Baker, the troubled teen who kills herself and leaves a series of 13 tapes for her classmate Clay Jensen that explain the reasons behind her suicide.

The novel has been a strong seller since it came out in 2008, and Asher has fielded a lot of interest from producers. He’s been waiting for the right actress—and on his personal blog says he’s convinced it’s Selena Gomez. Watching her in Princess Protection Program, he says, “[G]ave me chills! Visually, for the first time, I could see pretty and optimistic Hannah slowly losing hope.”

We’ll see soon if fans of the book agree with him.

The Selena Gomez I saw in The Princess Protection Plan was not who I’d expect to be Hannah Baker. Though when I saw the trailer, I was surprised ! I can’t wait for the movie to come out- though it will be in 2013
