‘The Last Lecture’ by Randy Pausch. It’s an inspirational book by the Carnegie Mellon Professor who was dying of pancreatic cancer. He tells us about having hopes & dreams, & gives us memorable life lessons. It’s about living life to the fullest. In short, it’s about living, not dying.
Our book discussion read “So Big” by our state’s famour author, Edna Ferber in 2008. Everyone loved it and wished we could have read more of the story. Our library no longer had a copy, so our purchase that year was “So Big.”
To add another book to a list of modern-day classic, I suggest THE SHADOW OF THE WIND by Carlos Luis Zafon. Anyone who loves books and and thinks of them as almost taking on a life of their own will appreciate this book.

WAR AND PEACE will always be a classic
