Everything Lovely, Effortless, Safe, a debut novel about a pastor’s wife-turned-aspiring Hollywood actress, is filled with such precision and grace that author Jenny Hollowell seems like a veteran, according to BookPage reviewer Kari Edgens.
The novel comes out a week from today, but you can get a preview now in the book trailer below, which includes an excerpt from chapter 43 (don’t let that number scare you off; the novel’s 256 pages):
Also take a look at Edgens’ review of this “engrossing read on the obsessive nature of celebrity.”

This trailer is GREAT but only half as good as the book!!
Sounds fantastic and I can’t wait to read it.
I’m hooked — can’t wait for the release!
There is something off-putting about a book of 40+ chapters that is under 300 pages. I have not seen many ‘book trailers’, but the idea of a trailer is to entice you. The monotonous voice of the narrator only brought thoughts of boredom to me. I would think I would be given an overview, a synopsis here. But I wasn’t. If not for the brief bit about it regarding celebrity (from the written text accompanying the video) I would have no idea what the novel is about.
