Speaking of bloggers (thanks again, Rebecca!) — news recently broke of a big book deal for The Bloggess, aka Jenny Lawson. Jenny will write Let’s Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir (“Little House on the Prairie, but with more cursing,” according to Publisher’s Marketplace) for Amy Einhorn Books.
From Dooce to the Pioneer Woman, from Julie Powell to Jen Yates (Cake Wrecks), blogs-to-books don’t seem to be going anywhere.
Do you read The Bloggess, or any of her columns (“Ask the Bloggess,” “Goodmom/Badmom,” “Sexis Funny”)? Will you check out her memoir?
If you had to make a prediction, which blog will become the next book deal?

Definitely The Beholder! She is the daughter of author, Susan Wiggs, and if you ask me, she is definitely just as talented as her mother. Her blog is funny, informative and insightful. She has great recipes and her photography skills are awesome, too!
Of course! The Bloggess has taken me through all the stages a reader wants to go through… mild curiousity, busting out at the seams laughing, slight horror and embrassment, and finally turned me into a devoted fan. Reading her blog posts are a must on my to-do list… one that actually gets done, as opposed to most of the other things on there like laundry, dishes, and actual work. I will definately be at the book store the day her book comes out, wallet in hand… no matter how thin it may be at the time.
Hyperbole & a Half is my bet. Yet another brilliantly funny woman with mental issues. Is there a connection there? Yes. Yes there is.
The Bloggess is about as funny as a hernia. Since Hyperbole And A Half is equally bad I’d expect her to get published too.
I absolutely wouldn’t miss it! I love Jenny’s writing, her stories, her life and pretty much just her!!
Love The Bloggess, and I can’t wait for the book. I was interested to see if they had any information/pre-orders on Amazon, so I could add it to my Wish List, but so far I can only find a listing for the Audiobook? Keeping my eyes open though…
for that reason pleasant publish not to mention say thanks to you for this.
