National poetry month seems like the perfect time to announce the sale of Colum McCann’s next book: it took its title,
Thirteen Ways of Looking, from a Wallace Stevens poem,
“Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird.” The novel is about a murder that McCann portrays from multiple points of view.
Thirteen Ways is part of a new, two-book deal that McCann signed with Random House in the wake of winning the National Book Award for Let the Great World Spin. No release date has yet been set, but we’ll keep you posted!

U.S., French, German and U.K. covers for Let the Great World Spin, as shown on McCann's website
