MEET THE AUTHOR: DONNY OSMOND
Title of your new book:
Life is Just What You Make It
Describe your book in 50 words or less:
I was not interested in writing just any kind of autobiography, it had to be real and honest, without trivial fluff as it's called.
So, I dug down deep and came out with something I'm very proud of,
It was such a cathartic experience that was worth the pain and joy of reliving the past 41 years.
What's your favorite thing about this book:
My honesty
What's your favorite book? Favorite movie?
Anything by John Grisham.
I've always loved "Young Frankenstein" and "Spinal Tap." "Waiting for Gufman." It's great too!
Which writer influenced you least?
For anyone to start and finish a book, I have the utmost respect for them. I don't think people realize the amount of time that goes into writing a book. If I had to pick someone...the person who wrote this question.
About what will your next book be?
I can't imagine starting another book right now. But if I'm lucky enough to be doing this for another 35 years, I may give it another crack.
Your most aggravating habit?
You'll read a lot about this in my book, but I'm a perfectionist! I use to think that was good. It's not!
Which one extremely famous person (besides yourself, of course) would you like to read your book?
Sean Connery. He has entertained me for so many years in his films, and what a thrill it would be to know that he may be entertained by my book.
If you had a yacht, what would you name it?
After my wife of 21 years. I would call it "Debbie's Dinghy."
What one thing would you like to learn to do?
Relax!
Donny Osmond is one of the world's most recognizable personalities. He is now the host, with his sister, Marie, of the Donny and Marie talk show. He lives with his wife Debbie and five children in Utah. Life is Just What You Make It is published by Hyperion.
