Lily Benjamin is a funny, feisty comedy writer whose life falls apart from a series of disasters. When Charlie Roth, an incurable curmudgeon, steps in to help, his sense of humor changes her life and his own. The story will keep you tearing kleenex out of the box non-stop.

What's your favorite thing about this book?
I love that this book screams out that substance is more important than form, and that there is somebody out there who will love us for the beauty of our souls.

What's your favorite book? Favorite movie?
My favorite book is "The Princess Bride", another unlikely love story. My favorite movies are Judy Garland in "A Star Is Born" (saw it 28 times) and "Beaches" (saw it 6 times).

Which writer's work influenced you least?
My daughter reads Brian Jacques who writes about talking mice. I prefer people.

About what will your next book be?
About 350 pages.

Your most aggravating habit?
Making stupid jokes like the above. (I was a comedy writer.)

Which one extremely famous person would you like to read your book?
Stephen Hawking, because he would understand.

If you had a yacht, what would you name it?
My husband turns green just driving by the wharf. We would never have a yacht.

What one thing would you like to learn to do?
Balance my checkbook.
