Describe your book in 50 words or less:
The Cremator murders women and burns their bodies. The witness to his latest crime -- a troubled teenage runaway -- is assigned to advocate/ex-FBI agent, Kate Conlan. Kate must work with her ex-lover, FBI profiler, John Quinn, to catch the killer before he can make Kate his next victim.
What's your favorite thing about this book?
The characters. It's a great cast.
What's your favorite book?
The Long Goodbye by Raymond Chandler

Which writer's work influenced you the least?
I have my own voice. I never read another author's work with an eye to how it may or may not influence me.
About what will your next book be?
The working title is Dust to Dust. It carries over characters from Ashes to Ashes. The plot revolves around the suspicious death of an internal affairs investigator.
Your most aggravating habit?
Bad habits? Who? Me?
Which one extremely famous person would you like to read your book?
I wanted George Clooney to read Ashes to Ashes because he would be perfect as Quinn, and, in fact, he did request a copy from my agent.
If you had a yacht, what would you name it?
"The Death Trap" I think a name like that would weed out the crowd wanting to sail with me.
What one thing would you like to learn to do?
Swim. If I had a yacht named the Deathtrap, I had ought to know how to swim.
