Your Pet's Horoscope

REVIEW BY KATHERINE H. WYRICK
"Hey, chick, what's your sign?" No, it's not a pick-up line you'd hear in some seedy bar. It's a question many pet owners are asking today. And Diana Nilsen, author of Your Pet's Horoscope, has the answer. This book, Nilsen says, will help you understand "what makes pets tick" (note that's not "what makes pets get ticks"). And she's right. On our daily strolls with the BookPage mascot, we always see the same snarling cur. Now we just smile and say knowingly to ourselves, "Aries." Often vomits? Could be a Cancer. Likes soft bedding? Most likely a Taurus. If you don't know your pet's birthday, not to worry. Nilsen provides exercises that help you determine your pet's sign and a section on owner and pet compatibility. We hope our dog doesn't find out we're Leos -- he's not big on cats. Remember, have your pets spayed or neutered -- and keep an eye on them when the moon is in the seventh dog house.
