A killer stalks the deep South, terrifying citizens from Memphis to New Orleans to Mobile. The FBI has set up local headquarters along the Mississippi Gulf Coast to try to put a stop to the madness. It hasn't worked.

When a young police lieutenant in a sleepy, Mississippi coast town responds to a routine prowler call one night, he isn't expecting to find the handiwork of the killer. But his grisly discovery is just the beginning of a horrible nightmare . . . a nightmare that may kill him and his wife.

"With his taut tales and fast words, Wilson will be around for a long time."
