Bunnies and lambs abound this spring

New book novelties and little Easter books are popping up like tulips this spring. Here are some treats for little ones.

Everybody knows rabbits multiply quickly. In 10 Little Bunnies by Heather Vane, a tiny board book for little hands, bunnies help little ones learn to count to ten as they play all day and then fall fast asleep. Photos in bright colors make counting them an extra pleasure.

In the board book It's Easter Time by Alan Benjamin, the Easter bunny shows readers ways to give to others, each illustrated by Sam Butcher with Precious Moments characters. The text is in verse, just right to remember and repeat.

Let's Play, Little Lamb is actually a fluffy lamb holding a tiny board book. As children enjoy the simple rhyming story of this new "Bend 'n' Snuggle Book" they can "help" the lamb do the actions suggested on each spread as he searches for his best pal, Piglet. A well-made novelty.

Happy Easter! by Jesslyn Deboer is the true story of Easter from Little Lamb's point of view. This egg-shaped board book with picture-window pages is illustrated by Susan Miller.
