The Dilbert Future

What if Dilbert had a crystal ball?

Review by Sukey Howard

A new role for Scott Adams and his boon to the world of business books -- Dilbert as diviner, prognosticator, predictor, the soothsaying savant to set us straight about the coming millennium. In "The Dilbert Future," Adams gives us the skinny on "Thriving on Stupidity in the 21st Century." We all know from past Dilbert directives that the world is full of dummies or "induhviduals," (emphasis on the "duh"), so it follows that one of the first caveats is to "stay away from anything that involves induhviduals, electronics and sex." Another crucial observation is that, counter to common belief, the Star Trek vision of the future just won't work because it doesn't take into account "the stupidity, selfishness and horniness of the average human being." But Adams's own visions and predictions, based on his "awesome powers of logic . . . crystal clear observations, frightening intuition and total lack of guilt" abound, astound and will surely lead to a slowdown in important office work.
