Review by Jodi Israel

Just a reminder that the second book in Julie Garwood's Rose trilogy is available this month. If the first book "One Pink Rose" was a teaser, "One White Rose" is even more of a trap, pulling you in from the first chapter. This is vintage Garwood, funny and tender, familiar yet new. It should have been longer!

The final brother, Adam, is up next month in -- you guessed it -- "One Red Rose."

Futuristics tend to have trouble finding an audience. It's like a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup: romance fans don't want too much science, and science fiction fans don't want too much romance. Treading this line well is Jayne Castle, also known as Jayne Ann Krentz, who returns to the planet of St. Helens for her newest book "Zinnia", a follow-up to last year's "Amaryllis." She has always been fascinated with parapsychology, and St. Helens abounds with it. The planet was originally colonized by Earthers so there is some familiarity with the vocabulary. Things like coff-tea and jelly-ice paint very visual pictures yet are outside our experiences. Castle has fun with the story because she isn't limited to our reality as she spins the requisite mystery that brings the hero and heroine together. Expect more in this series.

One of the hottest authors writing contemporary category romances today is Jennifer Crusie. Her sharp-witted, irreverent sense of humor has captured readers' attention for the past several years. Her backlist is nearly impossible to find. Thankfully she has a new book out this month, "Trust Me on This." Buy early -- this won't stay on the shelves!

Dennie Banks is a reporter following a lead. Alec Prentice is an agent working on a federal fraud case. When Dennie bumps into the con artist Alec is chasing, Alec believes she's part of the scam. Miscommunication runs as rampant as the sexual tension.

Crusie's memorable descriptions stay with you long after you've finished reading the book. Her first full-length novel comes out next year.
