Bond fever

Review by Sukey Howard

Just say No! -- "Dr. No," that is -- invite "Goldfinger," add that "You Only Live Twice" and you'll have an Ian Fleming audio festival, a Bondian bonanza read by John Kenneth.

"OO7," that "shaken, not stirred" martini maven, that droll sophisticate of sabotage with more lives than nine cats is just as entertaining on tape as he is in books and movies.

In "Dr. No," James lands on a luxury island with a luxurious lady but, unfortunately, both belong to the nasty No, who really doesn't want dear James around. "Goldfinger" has no yen to befriend 007 either and certainly doesn't want him near the $15 billion in U.S. bullion he's stashed away. Once may be enough for mere mortals, but James finds that is essential to know that "You Only Live Twice" when you're on an assassination impossible in a Japanese "Garden of Evil."

Sukey Howard reports on spoken word audio each month. Don't miss her audio book reviews on CNN's "Sunday Morning."
