Review by Alice Cary
Big sisters find just the confidence they need when they can play mother to younger brothers, and being able to count is an extra boost to self-esteem. In My Baby Brother Has Ten Tiny Toes, Laura Leuck tells us in four-line rhymes about all the things a big sister can do for baby brother -- singing silly rhymes, choosing his shoes, playing musical instruments.
Bright-eyed and brightly colored illustrations make it clear that big sister is enjoying everything as much or more than her younger sibling, and parents will enjoy the subtle touches of big sister acting out her role.
Alice Cary counts with her son Will and reviews books in Groton, Massachusetts.
