Review by Sukey Howard

Oy veh! Mama is moving back to New York to be with the kids, to give them the attention they definitely don't want. The three kids are now full grown with grown-up problems -- one's fat and married to a schlemiel, one's gay and on the verge of bankruptcy, and Sigourney (born Susan), though a success in the career department, has failed in the male department. What to do?

The answer Sigourney comes up with is "Operation Geezer," and that translates into marrying Mom off to an old coot with big bucks. Hence the title of Olivia "The First Wives Club" Goldsmith's family farce, Marrying Mom . How they find the prospective "geezers," try to micro-manage Mom, a task that is all but impossible, and keep their own uneven lives together turns into a frank, funny fable of modern-day manners.

Goldsmith reads with all the appropriate accents in all the right places.
