Review by Michael Pellecchia

The authors of this guide use the research of their own law colleagues and CPA firm Grant Thornton. It's organized to help you pull your records together, choose which tax forms you'll need, and help you decide how to fill them out. Its sample tax forms are in the body of the text, rather than at the end of the book as in some other guides. Purchasers get a free update in February 1997 if they send a self-addressed stamped envelope (with 64 cents postage) to the publisher. You may also order other Consumer Reports books for 20 percent off list, directly from the publisher, using an enclosed card. The writing, editing, and design of this book are very good. Chapters on audit, estate planning, and tax planning are nicely prepared.
