The first 100 entrants receive free, autographed copies of Joy School, which will be published in April.
The winner receives a $500 prize, courtesy of Random House. And the winning essay will be published in the May issue of BookPage.
Entries must be 250-500 words long and typed. Elizabeth Berg and the editor of BookPage will select the winner. Essays will be judged on originality, writing quality, and allure. The entry that makes us sigh the most deeply wins.
