The richness and variety of information available on the Internet is a source of wonder and frustration. This book offers a primer on where to look for free or low-cost information of interest to the business user. It's organized by type of business resource (services, personal finance, general resources, resources by industry, etc.). It supplements the conventional use of search engines by pointing the user to hotlists contained within many of the sites reviewed in this text.
This directory offers brief descriptions of each standard search engine, helping to pre-screen which ones you might use for a particular search. Each site listed in the different chapters is also described and rated for ease, speed, and value.
The authors are business Internet users themselves, and this book sprang from their need to have a helpful list of sites, mostly Web sites, that are useful to them and their corporate customers. It also contains a CD-ROM which offers 15 free days of Internet access from the Earthlink Network.
