Finding simple wisdom

Review by Michael Pellecchia

Writing in the winning and accessible style of O. Henry, Mark Fisher unlocks many of the common empowering techniques of success with The Millionaire's Secrets, a compelling fable of timeless truths. The subtitle is "Life Lessons in Wisdom and Wealth," and wisdom is emphasized as much as money. The main character is 32-year-old John Blake, who leads an unfulfilling life as star copywriter in a small New York advertising agency.

His restlessness leads to an odyssey full of stock characters such as the mysterious stranger and the love of his life. These figures are so convincingly portrayed as to erase all cynicism on this reader's part. Better still, the real riches of the book are its timeless verities. They include goal-setting, listening to your heart, realizing your potential, concentration, thinking big, and making it happen. Emphasis on audacity and sincerity make this book really special. It's the sequel to Mark Fisher's previous title, Instant Millionaire.
