Review by Barbara Franklin
Continuing the international theme, The Kids' Multicultural Cookbook by Deanna F. Cook is full of recipes and new ideas from around the world. The recipes are clear and most of them easy enough for young cooks. There are interesting tidbits of information about the various foods and their country of origin, as well as black-and-white photos of each of the children who suggested the recipes and a few words in the child's own language. An added bonus is party-planning tips for unusual children's parties including suggestions for theme, foods, and games to be played. Already winning awards, this book would be a great help for teachers to use when presenting individual countries to their classes.
Barbara Franklin is a children's specialist librarian and a good cook from Nashville, Tennessee.
