Halloween approaches, and food for upcoming parties will be no problem with the next two titles: Gross Grub by Cheryl Porter and Creepy Cookies by Tina Vilicich-Solomon offer the most frightful assortment -- Blood Clot Chewies (Rice Krispie treats with an attitude) or Slab o' Scabs (toast with jam and raisins). The recipes are easy and the illustrations are "gross" enough for even the scariest of parties. Parents may recognize a few favorites from their childhood, but now they're "a la King" (Stephen, that is).
