Readers will follow several different avenues in Cutting Horse by Bonnie Bryant. Targeted toward preteen and early adolescent girls, the book is #56 in the popular Saddle Club Series and plays as much on the good friendship among the four main characters and the budding romance of one of them as it does on equestrian-related elements. It does have strong lessons about not judging people by their occupations or where they live. Bryant also writes the Pony Tale Series for young readers.
