Cut-out cookies are often a child's first cooking experience, and the Alphabake set provides everything a young cook needs: 26 cookie cutters shaped in the letters of the alphabet, a cookie sheet, and a full-color, illustrated cookbook. Debora Pearson has based all 20 different cookies on one easy-to-follow recipe. This one is mostly about having fun in the kitchen -- recipes for such things as squeezing dough through a garlic press to make fur for a baked cat or dog shape, baking big boo cookies to hang for Halloween party decorations -- but along the way kids can have a delicious time learning the letters of the alphabet.
