Review by George Cowmeadow Bauman

Now that potential writers know that there are Lynne Sharon Schwartzes out there, addicted to authors' creative use of language, how can texts be created that they want to read, and in some cases, actually spend money to acquire?

Bonnie Goldberg has created a wonderfully inspiring book, Room to Write: Daily Invitations to a Writer's Life by Bonni Goldberg, valuable to all who choose to put words on paper, whatever the reason. To Goldberg, and apparently to the many writers quoted within, writing is a way of life, not merely an activity, not a hobby nor a job. She observes, "Writing, like any spiritual undertaking, has many paths, but only one direction -- deeper."

The book is divided into 100 "studies," short, intriguing, focused exercises concluding with a companion quote to urge us to find ourselves in the writing process. The first study is called "Diving In," and that is what potential writers should be doing with this book.
