Review by Michael Pellecchia

Escaping the Coming Retirement Crisis: How to Secure Your Financial Future by R. Theodore Benna and William Proctor. Too much risk aversion could spoil your retirement income, writes the author of this book, who was also the author of the original 401(k) savings plan. He claims that "most prudent investors who are willing to put at least 60 percent of their funds into solid growth stocks can achieve a nine percent return over long periods of time." And that nine percent will be needed to combat inflation, he adds. So, you'll need capital appreciation as well as dividends and interest, compounding, and the tactics and strategy to maximize all of these. Mr. Benna promotes empowerment over your future retirement beginning right now. What you do, how much risk you take, will make a difference. That's the solid advice in this under-200-page book.
