The title speaks for itself; this is a fairly complete hands-on manual. The authors are a professor and a consultant with lots of experience on workplace issues and initiatives. Their primary mission is to keep companies from rushing headlong into contingent operations with the automatic assumption of cost savings.
Such companies underestimate the importance of planning for and managing this sector of the employment pool. Considering the increasing reliance on contingent workers, this book is a timely and helpful addition to the collected literature.
