Put the fun back in reading during Teen Read Week

October 14-20 is Teen Read Week, an annual event sponsored by the American Library Association which encourages teens to read just for the fun of it. Since teenagers have plenty of serious school reading to occupy their time, the "free" reading recommendations here range from imaginative to escapist to laugh-out-loud funny. Take your pick.

Red Spikes by Margo Lanagan

Deadline by Chris Crutcher

Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac by Gabrielle Zevin
